I lay out my first cinder blocks 10 feet apart. I use an extra one placed half-way for extra bracing. These 3 cinders I lay flat to be my bottom shelf. I position my 10 foot board across these 3 cinders. Then right behind each of the 3 flat cinders, I stand an upright cinder block. Right behind each of those 3, I stand another one. So then I lay 2 boards, 10 feet, across both of these cinders giving me a double shelf there. The final step is to stand another cinder block up over the back cinder over the board already in place, making my top shelf. Clear as mud? lol In this photo, DH has set an extra block, not being used, just off the floor and out of the walkway. It's the one with the Bayer 2 in 1 systemic and Rose food sitting on it. Not trying to convince anyone to do this, it's just what works for me. The only hard part is lifting the cinder blocks. They have a lighter one now that weighs just 18 lbs or so. lol I do another set-up with 8 foot boards right beside the 10 foot set-up. This lvs me 6 feet of free space for my gigantic heater and all kinds of junk on the floor, a rope handled water tub on the other side I repeat the 10 and 8 feet set-ups on the other side of the g house and a smaller, 2 shelf, set-up in the back. |
