When I found the seed pods forming, I also found another surprise - two, what I beleive to be, pink-spotted hawk moth caterpillars happily chomping away at my vines. They are ~4 1/2 inches long and diameter is about that of my thumb! I went back and forth, seed or caterpillars, and finally decided that the caterpillars look full grown and ready to pupate so I'll leave them alone and hopefully both seed and caterpillars will be fine. Thanks for the feedback guys - I've learned alot about my HB MGs and the virtue of patience. ;) |
