Twincol wrote: Aaaaahh, this is a most perplexing time of year in the garden for me. Leaves start to turn on some plants, yellow and then brown, brittle, flying off in the breeze. Others perform their characteristic duties, be that flowering, wandering about the ground or fence, throwing themselves skyward, or just doing their job as place-keepers, holding on. The most confusing part of the season and plants, though, is that seemingly rare plant which yet again, once again, pops with another precious puppy or kitten, each more unique than the previous. I mean, some plants are going to sleep, others are working as usual, and yet others are "growing" a new life. Apropos of the above I've attached a pic of my beloved Sally Holmes, kind of goofy in her posture. But look . . . the clematis has caught her up in the seasonal work of a clematis . . . holding on. And the baby? A tiny image of new life in the lower left corner. See it? The miracle of new life. Yet look at the green, no yellow, no brown Fruitless Mulberry leaf caught in the foliage above Sally. A curious season. And we caught some of it during the past 48 hours, KaperC. I worked my head off outdoors and loved it. Thanks for highlighting fall's emerging, JasperDale. It rained Fri night/Sat a.m. As of today it's cooler and the temps will once again rise as you note. Linda |
