In my area you don't see too many of them either. They aren't hardy here, in most stores they are on a bulb rack not potted and growing so people are drawn more to the annuals that are already blooming. The places that do sell them already started have big pots of them and they are expensive.
This is my front walkway where all my Caladiums are planted either in pots or the window boxes on the front of my house.
