I will post her chick pic and one a few weeks later. We did have an incident with my two small dogs and one of the young rooster. My dogs have never bothered with any of the chickens, until this morning. I heard a lot of barking etc and went to the door and they were attacking the young rooster! I ran out screaming at them scooped up the roo. He had a most of his tail ripped out and feathers from his back and sides. A couple of puncture wounds, everything is superficial. I cleaned him up, put blue coat on him and started him on a week of liquid antibotics. He is snuggled up in a warm blanket beside me. I have to get to the store for another heatlamp. The dogs got punished. They will no longer be allowed to roam free to do their business or play. I got out the runs and thats where they will be from now on! I am not a happy camper. Now I wonder if they hunted down that partridge and the silkie roo?. I got them because they are not bird dogs, papillion and chihuahua, 15 and 9 pounds. What to do? They will be supervised or on their leads from now on, I don't care if my husband thinks its mean. I am just thankful it wasn't anymore serious. |
