They all free range and don't always stay together so if one of the puppies is by it's self and someone sees it they may have picked it up, thinking it was a drop-off dog. We get lots of those. It is the risk we take for letting them run loose but that is the only way to keep the predators at bay. I have seen six week old puppies go to the creek about 600 yards behind our house through heavy under brush to get cooled off in the Summer by themselves. By three mounts old they run Coyotes with the big dogs. I do love this breed.
