We had some help over the weekend to get some of the weeds out and mulch in. This is the slope behind the house, on the opposite side from the pond (looking very sad now because the pump had to be replaced and hasn't arrived yet!). At the top of the slope is the greenhouse that I hope to make good use of this year.

Edited to add: The big plant in the background is a toyon - we have several around the place and they are gorgeous. The gray one in front is salvia apiana - the doves and rabbits love to sit/sleep under this plant. Someone I spoke with once suggested the scent of the plant might mask the rabbit's smell. The two plants in the foreground on either side of the path are Romneya coulteri - I'll take pictures later when they bloom.
