Steve that looks cold; its 45F (7C) here right now and pouring down rain (which we need). They are saying the swells in the gulf are 4'-6'--that's rather unusual, I'd like to see that. Can't take a 60 mile trip tonight though--got fence watching duty. Sort of like train spotting. I know my neighbors are praying they don't have to shore it up for me again in the cold rain, so it will probably hold. We will just have to see how strong the winds get tomorrow.

I can almost hear my Narcissus, Zephyranthes, and Habranthus sighing with relief with the deluge. They are saying 34F (1C) tomorrow night--I guess I will have to put a box over my emerging scape of Hippeastrum glaucescens or some of that floating row cover. I'll pull in my tomato and pepper seedlings into the garage later tonight; the rest can take it.

What is late is early this spring (and this trend is also applying to all my Louisiana Iris' blooms as well as my Narcissus) and what's early is late. This usually always blooms in late January or early February--but its decided to just start blooming now. I actually have a really good shot of this from last year with a gargoyle, but we will keep to reporting what is happening this year with the Narcissus. So this year you will just have to enjoy it with the ragweed that's already emerging for the season.

edited to add: By the way its 'Avalanche' or what they call 'Seventeen Sisters' around here. Only 4 sisters so far--lol
