I have a 6 foot tall Styrax japonica which has many branches. Last year, I took off some of the lower branches. It is still very bushy, and appears to be splitting into a double leader. I have no experience with pruning, and would like to know what I should do with this tree. Keep pruning off lower branches? Cut off one of the double leaders or let them both grow?
