I have some vine poles built with the cattle wire, and use everything from bamboo ladders to chains...
After Huricane Rita dropped the next door neighbors pecan tree on the premises, I had the builders leave the tall posts on the fence..as I knew I would do something with them...most likely a trellis...that page I think is going to be the answer - I think the vine pole idea is going to work great with the posts!
The picture is the top of the fence with the original sized posts...right now I just have an ordinary trellis between them.
