Even doing mine this way, that mammoth one of mine bloomed so late that the seeds did not have a chance to totally ripen so I am stuck having to buy them this year again.
The PLUS about the Castor Beans for me is that I can place my Brugs nearby in their pots and the Castors give them the dappled shade they need from the mid day sun.
If you think digging up your Brugs is hard in the fall, try to dig up one of the mammoth Castors LOL LOL!
That pond is my 6th and last. The others I have removed or made into Lotus gardens.
