shelleydar - Orange is a very rare color in Morning Glories and some of the 'orange' are on the orange-yellow side...although the depth of the orange can be increased through selective breeding...

Yellow (albeit much more common than any type of orange) is also a relatively rare color pigment in Morning Glories and it remains to be clarified if there is actually a 'true orange' pigment occurring in any MG's or if any orange coloration (as perceived by the human eye) simply represents various admixtures of yellow and reddish colored pigmentations...

I am always interested in locating Orange colored Morning Glories...

The depth/strength of the orange coloration of the various Ipomoea obscura strains can vary per individual plant and is not as of yet a fully stabilized color

Ipomoea sloteri (which is one of the rare true interspecific hybrids) has rarely displayed a yellow and orange corolla...re:attached photo

Operculina pteripes can display variations of a salmon-orange which is known to vary with the particular geographic strain

There are other very rare species reported to have an orange color flower but of which there are currently no photos (that I know of) available anywhere on the entire web...

Hope the information offered is of some referential help...
