bbrookrd wrote: Thanks all, Victor, I would love to see a picture if you find it. This time of year I really pour over mine to see the screaming combinations holes, and bland areas. It keeps the juices flowing. I think I need roses with canes that are very flexible, not like the ones on 'New Dawn' which I was trying to do this with. It just shoots up and eats anything that come near it with it's massive thorns and thick canes, but I do love it. I moved it last year to a less dangerous place and it sulked a bit, well a lot, but I think it will be off and being ferocious again this year. I will go over to the rose forum to get some ideas. But I think this is another likely spot. This oak leaf Hydrangea could have a nice early yellow rose to contrast with the Buddleia alternifolia, plus behind it is a lilac that has finished by 6-11, the date of this picture and that is where I have moved the 'New Dawn' rose. DH thought I was wanting to move the shrubs to put in roses. He was so relived when he got the concept, that he agreed! Another item on the Victor List, Plant 3 or 4 rambling roses. Patti |
