I imagine we will have to fertilize them to give them the nutrients they need. Our knock-outs were planted in yucky red clay and we put those giant Jobe's timed-release fertilizer spikes in the ground with them--two to a plant and those babies really grew this past season. Here's a "before" pic of the knock-outs shortly after we planted them and I'll post the "after" pic in the next post.
