debnes, nice shot of the Sharpie. I know that the overall size, and the size of the head are distinguishing characteristics between the Cooper's and Sharpie. As times passes after taking a photo, I forget the visual size of the bird. Just looking at a photo can then be misleading (for me) as to the Hawk's size. I've got a lot of Hawk photos that have yet to be clearly identified.

For example, is this Hawk a Cooper's or is it a Sharpie ? As I recall the size, it wasn't small so I would say Cooper's. Unfortunately, the photo was taken right under my bird feeder.
