My DIL parents bought a place an hour or so from Orlando a few years ago and now they spend their winters there and their summers here in Idaho. What a life if you can get it! My DS and DIL along with grandson go and spend each February with them and just love it. They live right on the water with their own dock but it is a huge lake, not the ocean.

My sister married a man born and raised in Hawaii and she has lived on Maui for the last 20 years. I have visited her often in the winter and loved it but one summer she had an emergency and I flew over and spent part of August with her to help out and OMG I thought I would absolutely die, I was never so miserable in all my life. I literally had a fan blowing full blast on me in the shower! I would never willing go back at that time of year!
