Every fall before first frost, (down here in Missouri sometime around Thanksgiving) I bring them into my office, which has a southwest facing sliding door. They go on a table in front of the door, where they get full sun every day. I cut them back by about 2/3, they seem to go dormant for awhile, but about the middle of January, I give them a shot of fertilizer and they begin to bud. By the middle of March, I've got tons of new blooms. The cuttings can be stuck in a pot and probably will take root with proper care and attention. After the risk of frost is gone, back on the deck they go. Don't water them too much during the winter, just make sure there's some moisture in the container, and you'll do fine. |
