wind wrote: Swamp Hibiscus terrible photo I know, but every time I think to go out and take another one it is the end of the day and they are drooping/closing! ... I might write Park's just to tell them. Another plant they have a bit of a misleading photo of is the bicolor buddleia. I have it and it really dosn't "glow" with the bicolors. The photo has to be doctored up. I guess all these catalog companies do that, not just them. The cutting and pasting on the covers is funny. My favorite is in the Gardeners Supply catalog where they cut and pasted in goldfinches on sunflower seed cattail feeders! I didn't have good luck with the petunia seeds not because the seeds were bad...I just don't do well with teeny weeny seeds*! I decided petunia seeds may not be worth it. I also tried a Burpee petunia (supercascade white, hybrid grandiflora) hoping for a larger white bloom than what you can buy and I wasn't too impressed for the effort. I am really pleased with the ProvenWinner Supertunia hybrids I bought at our local garden center. * But I do still plant the, oh so small, nicotiana sylvestris seeds because I love them so much. However, this season it did remind me it does self sow :) |
