Isn't that the wonderful thing about gardening? This is maybe the worst month for my garden. The daylilies are over their main bloom months, with only a few left here and there. Really makes me glad I planted some Helenium a couple years ago and also that I have some of the simple annuals like Marigolds and zinnias which do so well inspite of the dryness and heat. Here is one bed in back with a tall Helenium in the center, a Zowie zinnia and Oranges and Lemon gaillardia. The Helenium is Helenium ‘Flammendes Käthchen’, one of my favorites.
