Well, it is hardy here. I rescued mine from an elderly Lady's home in Conyers Georgia. She had no family and had to go to a nursing home, she was in her nineties. I stopped to ask what it was and her friend happened to be there (he cut the grass for her) and said he didn't know, but I was more than welcomed to dig it up and take it home, that it would please her to know someone was taking care of it and loved gardening like she did. So I have it in two spots in my yard, and I shared one with a friend. It is very striking when blooming the flowers really stand out they are so red red! LOL Here is another hardy one I grow...can't remember the name though...it has began to bloom, and I have a pink one that is as large as a dinner plate literally and it should bloom soon as well.
