I live in the desert and have irrigation. I have great tall bermuda grass for about 9 months of the year as long as I keep alot of nitrogen on it. I just about break out even on my small herd after fertilizer, water, winter feed, and vaccines etc. The government says if you don't make a profit, it's just a hobby, but it feeds several families with great grass fed beef.
