Beginner Gardening: Great northern whites question, 0 by growingup

I planted some great nothern white beans that I had packaged from the pantry. They have grown quite a lot in just the 4 days that they've been in the ground. I can't find anything on growing these beans? Should I treat it like any pole bean plant variety or does it need special treatment of any kind? Does anyone know how long it takes for harvest? Also, as with my pole beans, the gnw have two pod like structures at the base. What are these? The ones on my pole beans dried up before I got to see what they were for.
