There isn't that much info on the net to go on. But the info there is shows similar ones to this one, with the four spots, of course, but none of them have the beautiful orange formations on the head as this one does.
This one lives in southern Spain, dry desert like climate. According to the info on the net the males do not have any stingers, only females. The males are the ones congregatinng around the flowers and they are smaller than the females. Males are around 30mm long and females up to maybe 45mm long.
This is the info I've got but it's not quite fitting on these findings. These (like the one on the picture) are the ones congregating around the flowers but they are all at least the size of this one on the picture and that is 45mm long.

Can anyone clear this out?
Is this one so specific to this area that little is known about it? Are they so much larger here?
