Gitagal wrote: Wrightie, NO! I do not live anywhere near "Droodle" park. I am in NE Baltimore County. I am a registered volunteer, though, at the Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Druid Hill Park. WHAT A PLACE!!!! I just never have time to go there and help out. We should all meet up one day and go there and walk through all the "Houses" and the "Palm Room" and gawk in the "Orchid Room". We could bring a picnic lunch and share it in the beautiful, outside gardens at one of the many picnic tables there. It will be memorable!!!! I live 5 minutes from White Marsh Mall and also from I 95. Exit 67B--White Marsh Blvd/Rt. 43. D-mail me if you plant to come. Dyson, My sister lives in Alaska-- in Homer. Where were you? I have been there 3 times. Love it! She is an excellent tour guide and has had her share of visitors. She has a beautiful house on a hillside overlooking the bay and the mountains beyond. A fenced in veggie garden (to keep the Moose out) and a tiny Greenhouse so she can grow Tomatoes and start her Radishes and other seeds earlier. Life sure is different there. Women hunt and fish and catch salmon in the AM and cook it for dinner that same night. Even the kids do it. YUM! They ride snowmobiles in the winter to get around, even though most people there drive Subaru Outbacks--same car I own. It is NOT as frigid in Homer as most people perceive AK to be. It is on the water and summers there can be downright hot. Sally, I got home in 30-40 minutes from your house. We are NOT all that far apart! Wrightie and me and you could meet up at your place someday. You know what? This "Haves and Wants" Thread seems to be taking on a different angle--a more interesting one. I like it! How about the rest of you? Less "greedy" and more "educational". Well--shut my mouth! Gita Here's one of my favorite blooming plants to have in beds and containers. The Heliotrope. LOVE that blue!!!! And--OH, the fragrance!!!! Edited to remove specific directions to my house. Thanks for the heads up Chantel. This message was edited Jun 11, 2007 3:08 PM |
