...and we have a winner! Of the first part, at least.

The first of the morning glories from the BeanCam (which will probably get renamed, since the flowers are doing fine without any beany assistance) have reached the top of the railing, so it was time to put up some strings, to encourage them to climb the rest of the way to the ceiling. The tall creeper belongs to a Candy Pink vine. At least I'm pretty sure it does - it got a little bit confusing while tracing it back to the origin. Interestingly, the same set of Candy Pink seeds has produced a bushy little dwarf in another one of the windowboxes, which probably has the same number of leaves, but is all of a foot tall if it stands on tip-toe. Now that the vines are getting some leaves on them, and are exposed to plenty of afternoon sun, they've really taken off. The weather has been nice in the evenings, so I'm looking forward to having them fill in and provide some shade so I can use the balcony.

The pot of vines that was giving me trouble with non-opening Blue Stars had a couple more non-starters, so it has been moved out of the bathroom/greenhouse and back to the windowsill where it made lots of nice, wide-opening flowers before. Hopefully, it will like being back there better. At the moment, it's working on what looks like a Picotee Blue, so with some luck, it will open up and make for some pretty pictures. There's also another little Blue Star bud forming on one of those vines - maybe this one will open. Several of the picotees have produced seed pods, which are about the size of small marbles now, so that's kind of exciting, too. How exactly does one harvest morning glory seeds, anyway? When are the pods ready to be collected?
