I want to thank the individuals who have been been adding their wonderful photos as well as information to the Texas Native Plants & Wildflowers Picture Directory. When I am searchinig for a native plant's ID, I go here first to see if it is listed. It is much easier to find a plant by the color of its bloom or category. I use Josephine's PlantFiles Native Plants of Texas Search Engine all of the time as I am hunting for a native plant's ID. If I have seen a plant that I need to find out which species it is, I can go down the names and use the USDA or Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center sites to determine which ones grow in my area. This really assists with narrowing IDs down making the final arrival at an ID less time consuming. Some plants whose photos appear here in the Gardening with Texas Native Plants and Wildflowers Forum have no photos in the PlantFiles. Our input into these projects is invaluable. The photos and any information you input can be of great assistance especially for those individuals who are doing research. If you do not have time to research the plant, just the title line, a brief sentene or 2 and the photo can be a great help. I have not had much time to participate in this forum due to the time I have been spending attempting to add photos of and information about native plants to the to the PlantFiles, the Texas Native Plants & Wildflowers Picture Directory and Josephine's PlantFiles Native Plants of Texas Search Engine. Any assistance is greatly appreciated and will strengthen the PlantFiles and the other projects. My wonderful finds this spring if you do not follow the additions to the Native Plants & Wildflowers Picture Directory:
