I am lucky to have my daughter that is probably worse than I am, when it comes to gardening, she is an inspiration, and helps me keep my spirits up. Andrew i by around 100 Lillie's every year then i have the ones that i cross bread as well, i think that you can tell that we live for gardening, 24/7 thing with us, we are now building a tropical garden, as our shelter belt is starting to come into its own, we have grown hundreds of trees and shrubs our self, to protect our tender plants, it is an acre garden, we actually look down on the mountains from our house on the Island, we have a beautiful loch or as you would call it a lake on the back part of the property, and we look over the moorland, some of the problems that we have had to over come, is the wind and the constant rain that we have, we have had to put loads of drainage in the property, the lilies love the moister in the peat land up here, they seem to thrive on it. We never take the lilies out of the ground, they are left in over winter, even in all of the rain we get, which is said to be one of the rainiest places that there is You all take care of yourselves, greatest respects, and thank you for your encouragement, regards from Peter and Mary-Anne |
