A Bald Eagle, perched on ice flows grounded during low tide. Cook Inlet including Turnagain Arm have the second highest tides in the world. During extreme spring tides, the water level can change, as mush as, 30 feet between low tide, and high tide. In winter, life is hard for these Eagles. During the past two months, there were only about six hours, of twilight a day during storms. To survive they have to find something to under almost continuous adverse conditions.
