Thanks for all of the comments on the coconut birdfeeder. I am not certain which island but I believe Hawaii.

I like the new feeder, Debra. You can always drive about 15 minutes and come watch all of Downey's around here. I rarely look out the window and not see a some type of woodpecker. But, I am still on the lookout for the Ivory-billed...I only get to see the pair, in a picture. ;o)

Pell, we don't have much trouble with the squirrels. When we get up in the morning there is at least 1-3 squirrels sitting on the deck railing, waiting for nuts. If we don't feed them quickly enough, they will come over to the window and look in! I keep expecting one of them to knock on the door! But, just in case, I have the feeder close to the house and they don't climb on the house.

We have other animals that like to eat the birdseed at night so, I have three feeders that are the bottom of planters. I put them away at night and return them to the deck the next morning. While I was out taking pictures of the feeder, Charlie Squirrel decided to come for a visit. Since, I did not give him nut, he decided to eat a little of the bird's corn. You can tell that he is really scared of me. :o))
