I think the water falls kept the water a little cool for them to grow great guns, as a friend in the same area has a much smaller falls and her water was warmer and her hyacinth were healthy and were blooming profusely. Her pond is not as large as mine,about 6' diameter and 3' deep. Mine is 3&1/2' deep and 12' wide and 25' long. So the biggest difference that I could determin was the water fall cooling the water more than hers. ??????? R
