So this is what I see most of the time I’m at home in fact it’s what I’m looking at right now. I have 6 bird feeders, 1 Wild Bird mix, 1 Sunflower, 1 Suet, 1 Thistle, 1 Hummer feeder and 1 ground level tray with Corn. There is also 1 ground level tray with water and the Fountain / Bird Bath with small pond. As you can image we have lots of wildlife coming and going all the time. Many different birds, squirrels and chipmunks, rabbits, ground hogs, box turtles, frogs and in the winter or during dry spells the deer come in too. The telephone pole is unsightly but it did give us a place to put a birdhouse, the suet feeder we use in the winter for the Woodpeckers and a holder for cob corn that the squires just love. Right now there are a pair of Blue Jays several Cardinals at the feeders. We are doing some replanting and in the next 2 years we will have to move the Butterfly Bush. It’s huge and we get a lot of Butterflies in the summer. This one is white and I just bought a yellow one to plant near by just in case we lose the big one when we move it. There is an Ornamental Plum to the right of the Butterfly bush just out of the picture that gets beautiful lavender/pink flowers in the spring and has burgundy leaves. There is a small Dogwood tree planted just behind the fountain. The flower bed next to the fountain has different perennials, bulbs and annuals planted so it looks different as the seasons change also several large brown stone rocks you can barely see right now. The grassy area (looks rough now) has some ornamental grasses and daylilies. Looks like the sun is coming out I try to send some more pictures later. |
