Many of you have known this brug as Orange King for the past couple of years. But after its third year of evaluation, by myself, several others all across the US and even as far away as Germany; I have made the decision to register this new cultivar.

I had hoped to register this cultivar with the name of Orange King, but after some discussion with my wife, we decided the name 'Autumn Treasure' was more appropriate.

The reason we changed the name was because during the heat of the summer the blooms are a nice golden yellow and the "treasure" of vibrant orange blooms appear as the cooler temperatures of autumn appear.

I am including a comparision picture of the color of its summer blooms vs the color of its fall blooms. The change in color as the seasons change is quite dramatic. I know of no other cultivar that the blooms has this huge change in colors as the seasons change.

During the three year trial period these are the positive traits that have been observed by the evaluators.

1) A very robust grower, often growing more than six feet in a single growing season. Perfect for a tree form brug.

2) The blooms are thick and waxy. Holds well in the heat, the blooms can last for up to a week in cooler weather.

3) It is not a pest magnet and so far seems to be resistant to SB, a very important trait.

4) Fragrant with a very citrusy scent.

Look for Autumn Treasure to be released in the VERY near future.

And a very special thank you to all who helped trial this brug.
