We think, Little Hen, the one to the left, inside the door, being held by 'Rue', the doorman, the Bantam roo, who 'sired' all 8 of the 'babies' inside, and is the hubby of the three adult hens, including Little Hen. It's possible that Mop is in love with one of the 8 babies, about 4 or 5 months old. It's a waiting game. Each night, after Mop goes to sleep on the ladder, right outside the coop of his true love(s). I go out and take him into the pen where he slept, until he fell, mop over heels, in love with the Bantam hen(s), and I deposit him with the two Sultan hens, and other 'juveniles'. Each day, I think Mop will take a break, but for 7 days, his devotion has been steady, we will see... |
