On the subject of friendly or unfriendly areas: I think that people in New England generally are a bit more reserved than in some other areas of the country. I tend to be somewhat that way myself (though apparently not as much as the British, according to my British husband. He once told me that they have to live closer together there and that "if we 'let it all hang out' like you Americans, we'd be killing each other.")

Sarv, whatever got into you on that vacation? Sounds like you were going non-stop today!

Hi bal, I meant to ask you yesterday how you go about moving a plant with a 2" diameter root, but it seems you've answered that today by saying that you can't. I feel bad about that plant that's been there so long, but still do love the gateway that you built. Too bad you can't have both.

Darius, did I miss something? Did you pick up that bug that your sister had after all? Hope that whatever it is, you get over it really quickly.

Lauri, also hope your back mends itself in record time! It sounds pretty nasty to me. Hope you're getting a lot of TLC from your family at least.

Hi M5, hope the thunderstorms clear out soon and it's clear sailing for a couple of days at least. I can really relate to that "safe place" problem. I do it to myself constantly, it seems. I was going crazy hunting for something just a couple of days ago --- and of course now I can't even remember what the heck I was looking for.
