Project #1 for the day: Take a bunch of old family photos (8 x 10 or larger studio photos, not snapshots) to Kinko's to get color reproductions on acid-free paper. My sister (with my help) is planning a "Keepsake" box for the kid for graduation. A photo of my step-father when he was in the Army in WW2, one of my mother around age 35, one of them together not long before he died the year the kid was born, and 2 family shots (our mother, my sister, me, and the kid) when the kid was 2.

Have been searching for a decent silver chest that's affordable. Since this was a last minute decision, it's quicker to get a silver chest, rip out the guts and re-line it in velvet than to have a box custom-made. Found a really nice solid cherry one on ebay and will bid on it later today. Can't spend more than $100 of my sister's money, so hope we don't get outbid. The new boxes on the internet are so cheaply made unless you spend $400-$500.

I have a sterling silver $100 bill that was in my mother's stuff that will be my gift to the kid. I have the certificate of authenticy but somehow it's no longer with it. Sigh. The silver piece is in a decent presentation case.

Both the Kinko's are nearly into Orlando so I will also go to the bagel shop. Best bagels around, NY style, a small chain of them. I first had some with the nursery guy (where Molly bought all those daylilys) while I was still in Archer. YUM!

I intended to get Messenger and Mighty Plant sprayed this morning but slept in too late. Guess that will be the evening project.
