They started as a single row a few feet long at the base of a small slope just under the edge of the tree. They tok a while to establish but have filled up the gap between the path and the slope, which is around 3' wide or more. This is the Anemone and you can see them at the path edge, the anemone have only just started to flower but they seem to be holding their own. The lily of the valley don't come until a bit later so the leaves won't smother them, and the anemone die back.
