On the plant ID, have you ever had Sweet William in there? Did this stay green all winter? just a thought...

You know how bad I am about wildlife that is wreaking havoc on my garden. We have darn armadillos that were so bad last year I was ready to shoot one, since we don't have a gun,...LOL,...we got a live trap and carted off 5 or 6. Got lots of pictures everytime of course. Caught a raccoon and a squirrel too, but of course we just let them go. The raccoons eat the corn and that makes me mad course the squirrels get into the corn too. So we just share. The gophers have trails ALL over everywhere, one could break their leg if they aren't careful. I am always lifting a heuchera, hosta or other plant when it becomes an 'air breather'. I don't understand why they go under there and just leave them high and dry.

That's why I have almost everything in a pot now buried in the ground. Much nicer.
