Sarahskeeper wrote: Al, I bring in all my 'tender' bulbs. Those Dahlias we 'sacrificed' because I didn't want to bother staking those 5 foot tall ones. All my bulbs get stored in paper bags packed in covered cardboard boxes on the basement floor. No problems that way. I divide the Dahlias in Spring. It's a pleasant 'sit down' task for a sunny day in April. I have not checked them yet, they wake up if I open the boxes to look. I usually have 50 to 60 Dahlias (all Redskin). I lift the Glads too. These have been the 'forgotten ones' for years. Did I post this pic before, I forget. Glad corms I lifted this Winter from a warm spot against the foundation. A few were sitting on the surface and surely would not survive. They had been out there for 5 or 6 years. Some got very big. Now I have to find a place to plant these also. So many plants, so little room...... Andy P |
