Mary I spent three summers in SouthEast Alaska what a place to fish. I was in Excursion Inlet just off Icy Straights one inlet over from Glaicer Bay.

This ferry is being built for the Inner Island Ferry Assn and is the Stakine seems it is 183 feet so just a baby of a ferry but must work well because we built the first one in 2001 it is called the Prince Of Wales named after the Island.and this one is a carbon copy. It will be launched Jan 21 and delivered to the owners late march which means june lol. It is my understandind that these boats are to be a link for travel within the islands not served by the Alaska ferry system. Before these boats some of those people had to fly in and out and rely on bardge service to move vehicles and supplies this gives them a different option. They have lots of seating that is plush for the foot passengers. Ernie
