Garden Pests and Diseases: Snake ID needed!, 0 by Tammy

very old sawdust, I threw four baby snakes along with the saw dust with the shovel.
They looked nasty - curled up and looked like they wanted to bite!

I can't find them in my N. American Reptile Guide book. I'm a bit nervous that
they might be rattle snakes. (I'm not a big fan of snakes but I keep trying to convince
myself some a good to have - like black snakes. But these are not black snakes)
Can you help me ID them?
