I contacted Terra Nova Nursery (I think that's their name) because of the patent on it. This is the response I got back from them. It leads me to believe that hybriding is worth a try, but cutting to propagate is not.

This is neat; I have never heard of it crossing before. If you get any variegated ones, they could be good for sales after stabilizing. Any flower color change with that nice margin would be great.
As far as the legalistics go, We do have a patent and COPF on Snowbank; but hybrids off of it are fair game; good luck and please let me know any results.

Since this plant is variegated on the edge of the leaf; you are likely to not get 3-5 variegates out of hundreds. You might want to grow lots of seedlings and just keep any that are variegated at all. They might well stabilize nicely.
