I have been watching it everyday and now I think I want to do as he suggested. I thought I would take the stem this is on and put it in a 4" pot and cover it with one of the cut off 2 litre coke bottles Art gave me.

If I cut off the Lavender stem it is attached to, poke it into soil in the 4" pot with the chrysalis be okay whether the Lavender lives or dies? Should I poke some air holes in the bottle or will there be enough air in there with the terrarium effect?

Here's a picture of it, but it's so hard to see since the coloring blends in so well. I suspect this will be one of the swallowtails that ate up my fennel since it's growing right next to it. The chrysalis is in the middle just above center. You can see just a bit of yellow on it,
