The only one I have had troubles with in sun is Francis Williams which is now in bright shade and doing much better. I've only ever lost one Hosta...Hosta montana 'Aureovariegata'. Had it for 5 years and each year just a single crown that kept getting smaller and smaller until it disappeared this year.

Fire and Ice does fine for me. Here is my 4 year old.
