I'm laying some large stones down for a "patio" bench area. Behind the bench, in the very darkest dark, I'm going to try Leatherleaf Viburnum. It can be trained as a small tree and several sources list it as doable in complete shade. White blooms will look nice in such a dark spot, and the vertical component is a major plus for me :) Post pics when you get underway!!!
