Been missing for a bit, I lost one of my old boys on Wedsnesday night. The cough he developed last weekend was getting considerably worse. Ran him to the vet, she said his chest sounded bad, but xrays didn\'t show anything definitive. Ran a bunch of tests, and she sent us home. We\'d been home maybe 30 minutes, and he was getting worse, quickly, got him in the car to run to the ER vet, and he didn\'t make it. A couple miles from home I realized that the heavy breathing and coughing had stopped. I pulled over to check on him and he was gone. The vet called me on Thursday and the radiologist they sent the xrays to diagnosed him as having pneumothorax, when air from the lungs leaks into the chest cavity. Really nothing could have been done. I just wish I realized that on Weds night at the vet, I would have had him put down so he wouldn\'t have had to struggle for breath for the last hour or so of his life, but, not something they could determine. Anyway, it\'s been a sad few days. The thought of pups coming is the one thing keeping me going right now.
