Of the ones that are budded or at least y-d, several had basal shoots that were about as tall as the main stalk. I had to wait about this long to see which stalks for sure would y. So I cut off the basal shoots that had not y-d and then clipped off a lot of the leaves and short branches below the y-s, My understanding is that by cutting off the leaves and lower branches then the plant will spend more energy producing more buds and larger blooms. Am i correct in this assumption or did I do a foolish thing. Here is a picture of them as they look now. Donna
