We grew some of the most heat hardy kind one year. I believe they were species tulips, but they didn\'t come back the next year. I couldn\'t even find mushy bulbs. My guess is some critter ate the bulbs. The true lilies have started blooming. The crinum lilies also. Among the daylilies, \'Royal Easter\' is still blooming. I\'m impressed with how long it has flowered. \'Strawberry Candy\' is a solid performer also. \'Happy Returns\' opened today. Kay planted grape seeds from a trade with a DGer in Greece. I think it looks like a variety that might be used for its leaves instead of or in addition to the fruit. The Nemos grape leaves dwarfed those on our \'Southern Home\'. \'Southern Home\' is forming clusters. The problem is the grape arch is the bird\'s favorite place to perch. I\'ve never heard of anyone using netting on grapes, but I\'m willing to be the first. Bets is back on the other thread. She had a bad accident tending her tomato jungle. Her back is injured. ~*#@! Life just won\'t give people a break some times. We decided to give you a secret do-over birthday, J. Can\'t tell you when it will be. It\'s a secret after all. ;-) the other j :-) |
