Hello, I awoke this morning to find this small bug building a rather large community at the base of my window's sill, which is floor level. It has a similar build and shape to a ladybug but is about half the size. It's got 6 legs, 2 antennae, wings under it's shell, and the color is ranging light - dark brown mottled with white. Their bellies are gray/white. What kind of insect is this? There's about 5 dozen covering the sill, in various stages, some dead. I apologize, the picture is the best quality I can muster. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
