Vaultofheaven wrote: Hello! I recently bought a majesty Palm and it's health seems to be declining since I brought it home. First of all, please don't tell me that these are bad indoor plants. I already know that. Unfortunately I did not know that when I purchased the plant. Now, every site on the Internet has told me it's a poor indoor plant. But I already have it, so I just want to take care of it. I keep the it where it gets plenty of light, but not direct sunlight. I water it every few days, but basically whenever it feels like the soil will be dry soon. I never wait until it gets dry, though. I know the soil should stay moist, but it doesn't like to sit in wetness. I mist it every day. I even set up my little humidifier to run next to it sometimes. It almost seems to be wilting sort of. The fronds have started to fall back/tilt down since I got it. It's developing blemishes on its leaves. In good lighting, I can see yellowish circles in the leaves. In regular lighting you can just see some brown circles. Many of the leaves are bending in weird directions. On the lower fronds, there's more blemishes and browning and leaves dying or breaking off. The lower the frond, the less healthy it seems. The biggest/tallest frond seems like the only one in good health. In the middle there is what I assume is a new shoot. I'm pretty sure the shoot has grown since I got the plant, but it doesn't seem to be opening or anything and the tip of it looks brown. Also, I'm not sure if I should move it to a bigger pot? It seems like some roots are coming out of the soil but I'm not sure if that's normal. The trunk is also dark and I'm not sure if it's supposed to look like that? If anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it! Thank you! |
