Nettle Ground Bug

Heterogaster urticae

Taken on 6th January 2008, Lincoln UK. Length 6-7mm. I found this inside, they shelter over winter until spring. Food is stinging nettle, Urtica dioica .

The thorax is covered in hairs, the tibia are striped which can separate this from other similar bugs.
